SOME FERTILITY BASICS

Let's talk fertility.
Did you know...?

A woman's eggs are limited.

Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have. By the time we reach puberty, our egg count has dropped from about 2 million down to about 300,000-400,000. We lose about 800-1000 eggs per month.

Fertility declines with age.

Not only does fertility drop in our late 20s and early 30s, it decreases more quickly after the age of 35. By the time you are 40, you have less than 10% of your fertility potential. This is due to a decline in egg quantity and quality.

Problems with sperm are a common cause of infertility.

Unlike eggs, sperm are continuously being produced, but that doesn't mean there can't be problems. In fact, male factor is the singular cause of infertility in 20% of cases and a contributing factor in 30-40% of couples with infertility.

There are ways to optimize your fertility.

Though you can't change your age or genetics, there are strategies to optimize your fertility, prepare your body for pregnancy, and improve your chances of success. Your RISE Fertility physician will show you how.

THE INITIAL CONSULTATION

Let's talk about you and that family we're planning.

There is no preexisting map for your fertility journey. We start with a conversation. Respectful, unhurried, anything but pressured, we ask you to share openly the fullness of what brings you to RISE Fertility.

We discuss your history, your journey and review any medical records. An ultrasound is performed to assess your eggs and reproductive anatomy.

Understanding your story helps us decide the best path forward so we can improve both your experience and your outcome.
