FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions About LGBTQ+ Fertility Care

Building your family your way can be complicated. We want to simplify and streamline the process for you. Make an appointment and have a conversation with a RISE Fertility physician. Share your goals and let us guide you from there.
Patients trying to get pregnant undergo a thorough fertility workup to determine if there are any risk factors that could affect the chances of pregnancy. The evaluation is customized based on the type of treatment cycle you are planning to undergo.
Nothing at all. If you are just starting on this journey or if you have been on it for a while, we will meet you where you are and take you the rest of the way to your goal.
It depends on what your goals are and how you want to build your family. Some treatment cycles take longer than others and some are more complicated than others. But don’t worry. We will guide you through it one step at a time.
You have several options when it comes to finding donor sperm. We will review the pros and cons of these options and offer advice on how to select the right donor for you. We partner with reputable sperm banks across the country and will help to facilitate the transport of the sperm sample to our clinic before your treatment cycle.
Reciprocal IVF allows both partners to play an important and active role in the conception process. One partner goes through IVF and contributes eggs, which are then combined with sperm to create embryos. The other partner then undergoes an embryo transfer and carries the pregnancy. The decision of who carries versus contributes eggs is one that is made together with you and your RISE Fertility physician.
Once you get that positive pregnancy test, your RISE Fertility physician and team will continue to monitor you closely through the end of the first trimester. Weekly ultrasounds and bloodwork are performed to check the health of the pregnancy and to make sure everything is progressing normally. We graduate you to your Ob/Gyn for prenatal care usually between 11-13 weeks of pregnancy.
Coverage for LGBTQ+ fertility care depends on your carrier and policy. At RISE Fertility, our unique financial consultation process will help you navigate the costs of fertility care and review your insurance benefit coverage, while our exclusive fertility financing options help put treatment within reach.
